U.S. PTO Lands in Detroit

In its continuing effort to reduce the backlog of more than 700,000 pending patent applications, the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office announced plans to open its first satellite office in Detroit, Michigan in 2011.  The new office is expected to create 100 new employment opportunities in the first year.
